Project Manager - Creates and manages projects

This is the controlling module of Seismaster^®. It creates and updates projects by bringing together all the data to be visualized. It also controls the inter-communication between the rest of the modules. The Project Manager provides the following functionality:

• Allows quick and easy creation and update of projects

  • Loads SEGY files with IEEE fp data, IBM fp data, 8, 16 and 32 bit integer data

  • Loads both 2D and 3D seismic surveys

  • Allows the user to define and create a surface format for loading surface data

  • Loads horizon and fault surfaces from ascii files

  • Loads well paths

  • Loads pre-existing colour palettes

• The user can preview  the traces before loading the seismic data into the project

  • In addition to the main and binary header, any trace header or trace curve can be previewed

• Handles multiple 2D seismic lines

  • Multiple SEG-Y files containing one or several 2D lines can be loaded. The lines can have multiple versions.

• Handles multiple seismic volumes simultaneously (or multiple views of the same volume)

  • Multiple attribute volumes can be loaded to be viewed in one display together with horizon and fault surfaces and well paths

  • Multiple views of the same volume can be used to create displays of any complexity, such as chair displays, fence diagrams, etc.

• It can load any survey subset

  • The user can select the extents of the survey subset from a displayed base map

  • It can also decimate traces when surveys are too large for the hardware to display

  • Allows the user to view a data sub-range (selected from a histogram) using the full colour scale

• The user can select to display any sub-volume of the loaded volumes

  • The viewing sub-volume can be of any size down to cross-sections or time slices

  • The viewing sub-volume can be changed as many times as required after the survey has been loaded

• Exports seismic data and horizon / fault surfaces

  •  Exports the data within the viewing sub-volume (it can be used to partition SEGY files)
