SEISMASTER® is an interactive, computer platform-independent 2D & 3D seismic visualization software system which offers a cost-effective, flexible and portable solution to geoscientists' seismic data visualization and surface creation requirements.

Benefits ( Click on the headings to expand/collapse the list )

  • Affordable

    • Provides functionality comparable to that of high-end system-specific visualization software systems, at a fraction of the cost.

    • Cuts down hard copy costs while allowing the user to examine the data in much greater detail.

  • Portable

    • It can run on any system that supports Java and OpenGL, i.e. virtually anywhere.

    • It can be used on a Unix workstation at the office, on a PC or Mac at home or on a Laptop whilst on the move.

  • Flexible

    • Standalone - it does not rely on a database on the network.

    • It can be used at the office as well as at home or on the move.

    • Ideal for presenting data to clients.

  • Comprehensive

    • Handles all SEG-Y data types for both 2D and 3D surveys.

    • Allows the user to view and edit SEG-Y files.

    • Displays 2D seismic data as 3D fence diagrams, as 2D lines or as single traces.

    • Displays 3D seismic data as 3D volumes, as 2D cross-sections or as single traces

    • Detects horizon surfaces using 3D volume and 2D line auto-tracking

    • Allows the user to create and edit surfaces manually

    • Displays surfaces (horizons and faults) and well paths

    • Generates and displays seismic attributes

    • Applies AGC to seismic data

    • Applies statics shifts read from ascii files to seismic data

    • Flattens seismic data on a horizon

    • Provides a framework for researchers and developers to create their own applications

  • User friendly

    • Easy to install and use (no training required)

    • Intuitive point and click user interface

  • Modular

    • Designed on Object Oriented principles

    • Consists of a number of independent inter-communicating processes

  • Expandable

    • Future modules easy to be added and integrated

Features ( Click on the headings to expand/collapse the list )

  • SEG-Y File  Editingll

    • Trace header values can be viewed both in tabular form and as graphs, and they can be edited by performing various operations on them.

    • Individual traces can be viewed and bad traces can be edited

  • Handles 2D surveys

    • Multiple (intersecting) 2D seismic lines can be loaded

  • Handles large 3D Surveys

    • Any subset of a survey can be loaded

    • Data can also be decimated for surveys that are too large for the hardware to display

    • Any sub-range of the data selected from a histogram can be viewed using the full colour scale

  • Multiple 3D Seismic Attribute Volumes

    • Multiple attribute volumes can be viewed simultaneously

    • Multiple views of the same volume can be viewed simultaneously

  • Versatile displays and impressive 3D Graphics

    • 2D seismic lines can be viewed in 2D using a variety of display types

    • Multiple 2D intersecting lines can be viewed as fence diagrams in 3D using their x-y coordinates for positioning

    • 3D seismic data can be viewed as 3D volumes, 2D cross-sections or 1D traces

    • 3D volumes can be rendered as raster images, anaglyphic displays or point clusters

    • 3D volumes can be cut along any inline, cross-line and time-slice and be viewed as three perpendicular planes

    • Seismic data can be displayed in 3D sandwiched between two horizon surfaces

    • Random vertical profiles can be viewed both in 2D and 3D

    • 2D displays can be zoomed using the magnifying glass tool

    • 2D displays can have a second synchronized window for comparing different data sets

    • Flattened seismic data along horizons can be viewed both in 2D and 3D

    • The value and location of any point on a seismic volume, horizon or fault surface and well path can be queried both in 2D and 3D

  • Transparency and lighting effects

    • Seismic 3D volumes can be displayed with varying degrees of transparency

    • Both seismic anaglyphic displays and horizon and fault surfaces can be illuminated by multiple light sources whose colour and position are selected by the user,  revealing subtle changes in the data.

  • Powerful Colour Manipulation

    • Powerful Colour Editor gives the user full control to fine tune the colour palette in order to highlight data features.

  • Imports

    • Segy files of all data types can be imported

    • Reads horizon and fault surfaces from ascii files

    • Reads well paths from ascii files

  • Exports

    • Exports entire or subsets of seismic volumes to segy files

    • Exports entire or subsets of horizon surfaces to ascii files

    • Generates and exports seismic attribute volumes

  • Surface Creation

    • Horizon surfaces can be detected using 2D and 3D auto-tracking

    • Surfaces can be picked manually

    • Both auto-tracked and imported surfaces can be edited

SEISMASTER®  is versatile and can run on inexpensive Personal Computers or Laptops as well as on high end workstations as long as the systems meet the following requirements:

System Requirements

Licensing and pricing options

A licence is issued for a given computer and user. On Windows systems, the software can also come on a memory stick which can be plugged in to the USB port of any PC that meets the System Requirements. In this case different users can use the software on one licence!

SEISMASTER®  is priced very competitively. It can be purchased at an one-off price with optional yearly maintenance and support, or it can be leased on an annual basis with maintenance and support included.

Multiple licences and academic discount is also available. Contact sales@heliosoft.co.uk for details.
