How large
datasets can SEISMASTER
handle?

How
many seismic volumes can SEISMASTER display simultaneously?
-
What kind of
input data does SEISMASTER accept?
SEISMASTER does not impose any
limits on the size of files it can load. The ability to display the data within
acceptable performance limits, however, is affected by the system hardware such
as processor speed, amount of physical memory available and size of video
memory. So far, the largest file loaded by us (due to disk
limitations) and displayed on our development Windows XP system
with an Athlon XP1900+ (1.6 GHz) processor, 1.0 GB of RAM and a RADEON 8500
graphics card with 64 MB of memory, has been 8.1 GB.

Q2.
How many seismic volumes can SEISMASTER display simultaneously?
SEISMASTER does not impose any limit on the number of seismic
volumes in the project. The ability to display the data within acceptable
performance limits, however, is affected by the system hardware such as
processor speed, amount of physical memory available and size of video memory.
Q3.
What kind of input data does SEISMASTER accept?
SEISMASTER accepts seismic data in SEG-Y format (IBM floating
point, IEEE floating point, 32-bit integer, 16-bit integer and 8-bit integer
data), as well as horizon and fault surface x,y,z data (format definable by
the user), well trajectory data (both for vertical and
deviated wells) and LAS well logs.
